Sharing Good Practices: Teenage Girls, Sport, and Physical Activities

Vescio, J. A., Crosswhite, J. J.,

Academic Literature

2002

This paper investigated initiatives to increase teenage girls' participation in sport and physical activities, examining good practice case studies from Australia. Surveys of national, state, and regional sporting organisations and various community and school organisations (including culturally diverse girls and girls with disabilities) highlighted three elements crucial for success: design the program for particular target group needs, ensure senior management support, and collaborate with other agencies.
