Iva Strnadova's research aims to contribute to better understanding and the improvement of life experiences of people with disabilities. Iva’s previous research and ongoing research interests include well-being of people with intellectual disabilities and autism and their families over the life span; life span transitions as experienced by people with disabilities; women with intellectual disabilities; and inclusive education. Iva is a qualitative researcher (grounded theory, content analysis, phenomenology, etc.). Iva is also Vice-president of NSW Committee of the Australian Association of Special Education (AASE), and National Councillor of the Australian Association of Special Education (AASE). Since 2011 she has been a member of the Management Committee of the Women with Disabilities Australia (WWDA). Prior to her academic career, Iva worked for 7 years with adults with intellectual disabilities and autism.
