Australian Community Sector Survey 2013 National Report

The Australian Community Sector Survey 2013 (ACSS) presents the findings from the ACOSS annual survey of community services across Australia. The survey was conducted between March and June 2013 and covers the period from 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012.

Researchers assessed two tools used for diagnosis and management of depression in adults with intellectual disability. The two checklists were almost similar. The carer checklist was more suitable than the GP tool.

This report focuses on service delivery and organisational expenditure data for 30 service delivery types funded by the Disability Services Queensland (DSQ) and the Department of Communities (DOC). It identified factors influencing service delivery expenditure.

In depth qualitative case studies were conducted in 3 well performing group homes using participant observation and interviews. The insights from this study provide knowledge to guide service development and evaluation.
